Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.

Adjusting.

Well, we have survived our big move. Although there are days when I want nothing more than to hope in the car and drive all the way to Nashville, we really love it down here. It is for sure a huge adjustment though.

With Colten working, Makenna and I get out and go for walks or go shopping for things. Just to get out. Being home all alone day in and day out with a toddler isn't the most fun I have ever had, but we are getting through it.

This week I am even thinking of taking Makenna to the beach by myself. AM I CRAZY?!?! Probably. It is something else to get us out of house and its FREE.

Where life takes you.

At the end of the summer and pending my husbands acceptance into the masters program, our family will be making the journey to South Florida for the next few years.
Last month Colten was offered a position as a graduate assistant with housing at Florida Atlantic University, in Boca Raton. The position is very similar to what he currently does at Austin Peay. As hard as it will be to move some 900 miles away from family and friends this will be a great blessing to us. Not only will we have the experience of the new environment but this will also provide Colten with the opportunity to get his masters.

We are supposed to be at the university by July 20 for Colten to begin training the next week-ish. Everyone please pray for us during this time and also for our families as this is sure to be a difficult transition for everyone.

Diet, Diet, Diet.

( I am open to any advice anyone has on this topic.)

My goals when it comes to working out are:
1. Get healthy
2. Lose weight

In that order. It is important for me to be happy with myself. Since I stopped working out as much I have gained back most of what I lost in the first place. I really feel the need to have a healthy eating life style. Then there is the problem with how extremely picky I am. I can eat a salad but I am going to load it with bacon, cheese and chicken until I might as well eat a big mac. I like blueberry muffin and poptarts, but I am terrified of actually eating a blueberry.
I know that I am weird.

There really isn't much point in trying to lose belly fat if you aren't eating healthy though. You can build up your ab muscles but you will never be able to see them..

Today, while browsing pinterest I found a list of the top ten belly fat burning foods and most of them I liked.
1. Oatmeal
2.Almonds
3.Olive oil
4.Eggs
5.Whey Protein
6.Berries
7. Lean meat
8.Whole grains
9.Peanut butter
10. Green veggies

This list I can do. I like 90% of the things on the list.

My problem is that I don't like a lot of things at are required to make all of my meals healthy. If anyone has any advice or recipes that I could try It would be appreciated.

Pure Cardio.

In the words of Shawn T "This s**t is bananas".

Pure cardio is 40 minutes of hell. Legit.

In the Insanity booklet it is described as "Intense and extreme cardio all the way-no rest!"

It is not for the faint of heart. By the end of this work out I was laying on the ground, unsure of my ability to get up. It was rough. I am not quitting though. I've lost some weight but I still haven't gotten my diet in order, but that is another topic for another blog.

So I still hate Insanity, but I am still trucking right along.

Week 1

Well the first week of Insanity is over!! I am hoping every week won't be so hard but I guess that is part of the joy of Insanity. I have to admit I haven't been eating that well though. I try to eat well and count my calories but I am a snacker.

We will see how it goes. I will probably weigh myself on Monday or Tuesday.

Day 2

Well, just went I thought Insanity couldn't get any worse, it did.

It was awful. I am just going to suck it up and keep trucking though.

You know why? Because I have gained 10 lbs since I stopped doing TurboFire and counting my calories.

Today I started counting my calories again though and it is going good so far. Hopefully when I weigh next week I will have some encouragement.

If you are in need of a good calorie counter, I would suggest myfitnesspal. There is an app and a website!

Good luck to any of you who are trying to lose weight or get in shape!

Insanity... Day 1

Whose smart idea was it for me to do Insanity??

Oh, it was mine...

Well, that was dumb.

I am so tired. I am almost dead. I thought I might die.

Turbo Fire is a joke compared to this.

That is all I can say. It I am capable of getting out of bed tomorrow I will let you know how day two goes.
